Molten Metal (known as hot metal in industry) is tapped into ladles. After undergoing ladles treatment, such as alloying , degassing and arriving at the correct temperature, the ladle is transported to the top of casting machine.
From the ladle, the hot metal is transferred via a refractory shroud(Pipe) to a holding bath called a tundish. The tundish allow a reservoir of metal to feed the casting machine.
Finally, the billets are cut into predetermined lengths by mechanical shears or by travelling oxyacetylene torches, is marked for identification and either taken to the next forming process.
Steel is passed between 16 rollers, without being heated to reduce the thickness.
Each pass will reduce the size of billet to a pre-calculated size until the final rollers produce the requested material.
